New A1307 safety group

A new group is being put together to address safety concerns for the A1307.

Linton Parish Council chairman Roger Hickford, who is also on South Cambridgeshire District Council (SCDC), is liaising with SCDC, St Edmundsbury Borough and Cambridgeshire and Suffolk county councils to organise the group and meetings.

“We were having safety meetings at the beginning of the year, but then they kind of didn’t happen so myself and some residents asked the (Cambridgeshire) county council what’s been happening,” said Cllr Hickford.

“I’ve been given all the contacts so am now getting in touch with all of the people to arrange to continue the meetings.

“There haven’t been the meetings since February but I’d like to get one organised within the next month.

“It all depends on getting people together – the latest I’d like to have had the meeting by is November.”
