Sea Pictures Gallery, Clare is marking National Astronomy Week (March 1 to 8) with new work from embroiderer, Michelle Holmes.

Her original pieces frequently feature moons and constellations and the new collection of work from her is no exception.

“The Observatory beneath a new moon”; “Looking out to sea beneath a bright moon”; “Watching the Skies”; “Observatory beneath a curtain of stars” are just some of the pieces that will be on display.

In addition, Michelle will be in the gallery tomorrow (Saturday, March 1) with her trusty Bernina sewing machine, demonstrating how she goes about drawing in thread.

In addition to these pieces there will also be an opportunity to see her award-winning quilts on display together for the first time alongside her quirky portraits of Betty, who gets up to interesting things.
