New officers join Cambridgeshire Police

Thirty-two new officers are to be presented with their warrant cards at an attestation ceremony.

The ceremony took place on Thursday (November 22) at Cambridgeshire Constabulary HQ at Huntingdon.

The constables are the first intake of new officers for the force since August.

Assistant Chief Constable Mark Hopkins presented the student officers with their warrant cards and they will be sworn in by Magistrate Benjamyn Damazer.

The student officers then embarked on the initial police learning and development programme (IPLDP).

The constables will undergo 16 weeks of training before being posted to stations across the force, where they will receive further tutorship on the job for 10 weeks.

Eight of the new constables were previously PCSOs in Cambridgeshire.
