New website launched for charity in Haverhill

A charity that runs two groups in Haverhill for adults with learning disabilities has launched its new-look website to help promote the work it does.

The Befriending Scheme’s new website, www.thebefriendingscheme.org.uk, not only has a new look, it also has an inspiring film, information about local activities and how you can support the charity.

The charity has a friendly and active Hub that meets from 10am to 3pm each Friday at the Chalkstone Community Centre, in Strasbourg Square.

It provides friendship and learning opportunities for adults from vulnerable groups, including those with mental health needs and older people, as well as those with learning disabilities.

The Haverhill Hub has about 40 members who take part in various activities, events and courses.

The Befriending Scheme, which runs groups in most of Suffolk’s larger towns, also holds a Tuesday evening group twice a month in Haverhill.

Anyone interested in becoming a member or in volunteering should call Ruth Barton on 07757 082310.
