Walkers in the Haverhill area can join Newmarket Ramblers next two outings as they look to burn off some of those excess Christmas calories.

On Sunday, January 12 the group meets in the car park to the rear of the old Shire Hall, off Raingate Street, Bury St Edmunds, for a 13 mile walk that visits Nowton, Rushbrooke and Rougham.

Further information can be obtained from the leader, Tessa, on 01359 232693.

For those looking for a shorter walk, and a shopping opportunity, there is an alternative of about 3.5 miles from the Newmarket Road Park and Ride site, Cambridge, heading into the city and, possibly, the bus back.

The contacts for this walk are Denise on 01842 862079 or Hilary on 01638 668266. Both walks start at 10am.

On Wednesday, January 15 a five mile walk gets underway at 10am from the village hall car park in Ousden, where a donation for parking will be expected. Further details are available from the leader, Robert, on 01638 741411.

Members are reminded to book their places for the group’s Sausage Lunch on 26th January immediately.
