The NHS West Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is holding a market stall event in Haverhill tomorrow (Friday, September 13) from 8.30am to 4.30pm on the Market Square.
There will be an opportunity to get healthy living advice from LiveWell Suffolk and a chance to talk with staff from Suffolk Community Healthcare, Healthwatch Suffolk and Age UK Suffolk.
The event has been organised by the CCG, who will be there to talk about the planning and purchasing of health services for local people.
Jo Finn, patient and public engagement lay member of the NHS West Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group said: “One of the main priorities of the CCG is to talk with the people we serve so we know how future healthcare services should be shaped to meet local needs.
“This market stall event is a great way to talk with people and listen to their ideas.
“We have been told that we will hear more views if we come to meet people locally in addition to other ways we have set up to hear what our public say, like our ‘patient revolution’ conferences.
“There will be CCG staff at the event, so there will be plenty of opportunity for people to find out what we do and how they can get involved.”
Annie Topping, chief executive of Healthwatch Suffolk, said: “Healthwatch Suffolk is pleased to attend this event in partnership with the CCG, which is a brilliant way to give people information about how they can improve their health and understand the role of the CCG.
“People can visit the stall to talk to us about their experiences so that we can work with the CCG to shape and improve health and care services for all who use them.”
Sharon Colclough, director of community services with Serco (Suffolk Community Healthcare), said: “We are committed to engaging thoroughly with the people of Suffolk and listening to their feedback on the healthcare we provide.
“We’d encourage anyone with an interest in community health services to come to along, share their views and find out more about the changes we are making to improve care across the county.”
