The display office has opened at the housing estate being built beside Haverhill Research Park.
Taylor Wimpey’s Arboretum development opens its sales cabin to visitors tomorrow (Saturday, November 2) where they will be able to look at detailed plans for the wide selection of properties on offer.
House-hunters will also be able to take the first pick of the plots available.
Planning permission for the 150-home development – of which at least 15 will be affordable housing – was granted by St Edmundsbury Council in January after plans to build a hotel, creché and Marstons Brewery pub on the site were approved in September, the day after permission to install infrastructure (roads, pipes, etc) for the £100 million research park given.
Eric Pickles, secretary of state for communities and local government, got work started on the 450,000 sq ft site in November.
Of the 15 affordable homes, there will be ten special rented units (three one bedroom and five two bedroom flats and two four bedroom houses) and five shared ownership/intermediate houses (three two bedroom and two four bedroom homes).
Nic Rumsey’s Carisbrooke Developments already owns the 55-acre Haverhill Business Park, which includes the Days Inn Hotel, and also the Cambridge Research Park.
Work on the research park got rolling after loans for £4 million, with half from the New Anglian local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and half from the Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough LEP.
Caroline Carter, regional sales manager for Taylor Wimpey, says: “There has already been a huge level of interest in this fabulous development from prospective purchasers looking for a stunning new home.
“I would encourage people to come along to the opening of our new sales cabin to ensure they get first choice of the plots we have on offer at The Arboretum.”
There is a range of properties available to reserve, including one-bedroom apartments from £114,995, two-bedroom homes from £136,995, three-bedroom houses from £204,995 and four-bedroom properties from £239,995.
The development itself will boast plenty of public open space, including woodland, play areas and public cyclepaths and footpaths, while there is a Sainsbury’s supermarket close by and a family-friendly pub/restaurant will be opening in early 2014.
House-hunters can be among the first to find out about the new homes available at The Arboretum by attending the launch of the sales cabin tomorrow (Saturday, November 2) from 10am until 5pm.
After the opening the office will be open on Mondays from 1.30pm until 5pm, and then Thursday to Sunday from 10am until 5pm, while the sales executive can be contacted on 01440 840343.
