Haverhill Police are warning parents not to park on the zig-zag lines or the zebra crossing near Clements Primary School after a child was almost hit by a car.
Pc Will Wright said: “Parking there is creating a safety issue for young people .
“There was an incident on October 7 near the crossing that has highlighted the problem to parents, the police and the school.
“The safety of the crossing was inhibited by vehicles parking at or near the junction, creating a higher risk to young people.
“People are parking on the zebra crossing, the zig-zags, and near the pinch point and the roundabout.
“They’ve been asked to be respectful and responsible in their parking, as further on from this we will get people saying we ought to be issuing tickets.
“This is a firm warning that people need to park responsibly.”
