Pharmacies are open over the Easter weekend on a rota basis, but NHS West Suffolk is urging people to stock up the medicine cupboard in advance.
GP Dr Rosie Frankenberg said: “Having a supply of sticking plasters, paracetamol, anti-diarrhoeal medicine and indigestion remedy could save you time and the stress of a mad dash to your local pharmacy.
“Just ask your pharmacist for advice on what you should stock up on.
“Another important preparation is to make sure you have enough repeat medicine to last over the Easter holidays.”
Keep a note of the number 111, the Freephone number for urgent medical advice when your GP surgery is closed. You’ll speak with a Suffolk-based trained advisor. The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
