Police in Haverhill are appealing for witnesses to a double assault that took place in the Woolpack in Queen Street in the small hours of Saturday (February 15).

A male and female couple were assaulted between 12.30am and 1am by another male and female couple in what Haverhill police inspector Peter Ferrie described as an ‘unprovoked attack’.

Police now want to speak to the alleged assailants.

The woman is as 5ft 5in tall, in her 40s with a brown bob with a fringe and wore a brown top/dress.

The man is about 5ft 6in tall, in his mid to late 40s with a shaved head and tattoos on his arm and was of a big build.
