Police clampdown on illegal cars in Haverhill

An operation to target illegally modified cars in Haverhill saw police stop 17 vehicles on Tuesday (April 1).

The road traffic operation took place between 7pm and 11pm in the Aldi supermarket car park in Lordscroft Lane in order to target illegally modified cars by the young and the inexperienced.

Three teams of officers identified suitable vehicles whilst a further team of officers based themselves at the test site. At the site there were also two vehicle examiners along with the assistance of the road safety team from Suffolk County Council.
