Police name Suffolk road accident victim

Police are releasing details of one of the teenagers who died following a fatal road traffic collision, which happened on the A14 last night, Thursday 24 January.

Police were called to the scene of the collision on the eastbound carriageway of the A14 at Bury St Edmunds at approximately 8.55pm.

Two vehicles were seen travelling along the road, a silver BMW and a red Ford Fiesta, the BMW left the carriageway and collided with a tree.

Police, ambulance and the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) attended the scene.

The driver of the car, 19 year old Adam Weller from Hereward Way, Weeting in Norfolk was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger of the car, a 16-year-old boy sustained serious injuries and was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital, the boy has since sadly died this morning.

The driver of the second vehicle, the red Ford Fiesta was arrested on Thursday 24 January.

The 20-year-old man from Bury St Edmunds was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

He is due to return to the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre on 4 March 2013.

Witnesses to this collision are asked to call PC Danny Ormes at the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101.
