Princess Royal in Haverhill

The Princess Royal is in Haverhill this afternoon where she has just opened a new sports hall at Samuel ward Academy.

The princess met talented sporting youngsters, school staff and governors and members of the local business community.

Wearing a lavendar coat and black gloves, the royal, the first to visit Haverhill in decades, was presented with a posy by student Alice Jackson.

She spent time listening and talking with many of the guests before moving onto pharmaceutical company Genzyme in Rookwood Way.

Just before 3pm she is due to visit Haverhill House in Lower Downs Slade.
