Robbery in Ipswich

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a woman was followed by three men who then stole money, cigarettes and a lighter from her.

The incident happened along Spring Road in Ipswich at around 2.30am on Saturday (December 22).

The 39-year-old woman was walking along Spring Road after a night out and became aware of three men walking behind her.

She stopped to make a telephone call at a kiosk at the junction with Bartholomew Street when one of the men opened the door and took her handbag from her; he also patted down her clothing and inappropriately touched her, over the top of her clothes.

The man stole a quantity of cash, cigarettes and a lighter from her bag, before all three walked off down the hill.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and saw these three men.

They are described as:

Man one– Of mixed race appearance, 17 – 19 years old, five foot seven inches tall, of slim build with short black hair.

Man two – Of mixed race appearance, 17-20 years old, five ft six in to five ft nine in tall with freckles on his cheeks, he wore grey Adidas trainers with black stripes, black hooded top with hood up and black tracksuit bottoms.

Man three – A white male in his late teens, of average build and a similar height to the others, he wore a black jacket over a cream hooded top.
