Run the Grand Prix for cancer prevention

Runners are being offered the chance to follow in the footsteps (or tyre tracks) of F1 royalty by signing up to the adidas Silverstone Half-Marathon with World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF).

The race – held on March 3, 2013, at the Northamptonshire birthplace of modern Formula 1 – is the perfect warm up for those planning to run marathons in London or Brighton the following month.

With a smooth, flat surface, the iconic track is perfect for clocking up fast times in the spirit of the drivers who normally speed around the circuit.

WCRF is offering runners the chance to raise money for vital cancer prevention research and education work – and get free entry to the race.

Natalie Tarrant, senior fund raising Manager at WCRF, said: “I’d urge people to sign up for the race because not only will it be a great event, but it will be a chance to raise funds that can help us continue with our important programmes.”

To race for WCRF, all you have to do is raise £350 in sponsorship and there is no cost for signing up.

In return, runners will get the full support from a dedicated member of WCRF’s Events Team; training and nutrition advice; essential kit, including your unique vest; a fundraising pack full of tips on raising cash and your own online sponsorship page.

Runners should call 020 7343 4200 or visit www.wcrf-uk.org/signup to race for WCRF.
