Rural Solutions, the nationwide planning, development and construction business have been appointed by, The Granary Estates, Suffolk, to renovate their disused farm buildings into a luxury wedding venue, to be known as The Granary Barns.
The Granary Estate, which also includes the renowned Dullingham Polo Club, are in the process of developing a luxury wedding and party venue in Woodditton, only four miles from Newmarket.
Rural Solutions have been put in place to improve the infrastructure and renovate the existing buildings with the construction of a new glazed bridal walkway and sympathetic refurbishment works to the grand function room, external works and landscaping.
This will create a ‘perfect’ courtyard location for anyone’s special day.
The project is due for completion February 2013.
Guy Taylor from The Granary Estates said: “We needed the construction team to hit the ground running but with the ability to handle any heritage issues sensitively.
“These were just two of the capabilities that Rural Solutions provides and their attitude to the history and potential of the barns, fits well with our ethos.
“The buildings built of flint and brick, dating back to the 1800’s, were in need of some structural as well as aesthetic improvements to conform to our philosophy, that quality is at our core and if we want to provide the very best in our hospitality offer, then our venue requires the highest calibre of expertise to guarantee a prosperous future within a tough market.”
Gail Culshaw, award winning construction manager at Rural Solutions added; “Rural Solutions is a national business that understands and values the intrinsic heritage of buildings and their environment, wherever they may be located in the UK.
“Our portfolio includes the skills to provide construction on new builds as well as older buildings, but to work on a set of such barns to ensure their livelihood in the future, is a privilege.
“The Granary Barns epitomises what can be achieved by Rural Solutions – the diversification of buildings with retention of integrity.
“It’s a pleasure for the Rural Solutions team to work on such a project.”
Work on The Granary Barns will be handled by the team at head office in North Yorkshire and the new Hertfordshire office.
Rural Solutions recently announced their expansion into the North West, with the acquisition of Rural Innovations, which adds more specialist rural planning, development and research to the Rural Solutions portfolio within that region.
Rural Solutions specialises in providing rural diversification expertise and consultancy across the UK with further business expansion planned for 2013.
