After three years at the helm of Sainsbury’s supermarket in Haverhill, manager Shaun Gadsby is about to say farewell.

Mr Gadsby leaves his role on Monday (Feb 24) in order to take up a new position with Sainsbury’s as its zone business development manager for cafés.

He will be overseeing all operations at 77 Sainsbury’s cafés in the eastern region on secondment for the next two years.

Mr Gadsby, who lives in Walton-on-the-Naze, said: “It’s a really good opportunity because there is lots of work going on at the cafés corporately, so it is exciting times.”

He moved to the Haverhill store in early 2011 after three years managing Sainsbury’s supermarket in Hoddesdon. For two years before that he managed a store in Chafford Hundred.

In his time at the Haycock’s Road supermarket he has overseen a lot of success.

“Online has grown massively,” he said. “It continues to grow and grow. Each week we’ve attracted new customers online and it’s going to continue to grow next year as well.

“The store has had some great results over the last three years. It’s one of the best in our region for product availability and service standards.

“This is a lovely store and I will miss the customers and colleagues here.”
