Two school staff have celebrated their 25 years in the profession and been honoured with a long service accolade.

Margaret Jacobs and Maureen Bradford both reached the milestone at The Bellbird Primary School in Sawston.

Having served a quarter century under Cambridgeshire County Council they became eligible for a Long Time Achievement award.

Mrs Bradford gathered her gong at a ceremony for council employees at Shire Hall in Cambridge, while Mrs Jacobs will pick up hers later in the year.

Bellbird deputy head Lincoln Tucker said: “Mrs Bradford is our school caterer, cooking delicious meals daily for over 100 children.

“Mrs Jacobs is our senior mid- day supervisor, teaching assistant, avid fund raiser, as well as entertaining the children dressed up as the Easter Chicken.

“We are very fortunate to two outstanding, hard working and dedicated members of staff at The Bellbird Primary School.”
