Second Suffolk teenager named after fatal accident

Police are releasing details of the second teenager who died following a fatal road traffic collision, which happened on the A14 on Thursday, January 24.

Police were called to the scene of the collision on the eastbound carriageway of the A14 at Bury St Edmunds at approximately 8.55pm.

Two vehicles were seen travelling along the road, a silver BMW and a red Ford Fiesta, the BMW left the carriageway and collided with a tree.

Emergency services attended the scene.

The driver of the car, 19 year old Adam Weller from Hereward Way, Weeting in Norfolk was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger of the car, 16-year-old Macauley Clements from Ixworth sustained serious injuries and was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital but died on Friday, January 25.

The 20-year-old driver from Bury St Edmunds of the second vehicle, the red Ford Fiesta was arrested on Thursday, January 24 on suspicion of dangerous driving and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

He is due to return to the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre on March 4, 2013.

Witnesses to this collision are asked to call PC Danny Ormes at the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101.
