A 16-year-old boy has become the second person to be charged in connection with an attempted armed robbery at a convenience store in Haverhill.

The 16-year-old was been charged with attempted robbery and possession of a firearm while committing an offence (attempted robbery). following the incident at Primrose Mini Market in Primrose Hill at about 7.35am on Friday, May 9.

He was arrested late yesterday (Wednesday, May 14) afternoon and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre before being charged earlier today (Thursday).

A second man appeared before magistrates in Bury St Edmunds yesterday in connection with the same incident.

Mitchell Voller, 18, from Warren Court, Haverhill, has been charged with attempted robbery and possession of a firearm while committing an offence (attempted robbery).

Voller was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on June 6.
