The proposed site of a wind turbine will be visited by borough councillors before they decide whether planning permission should be granted.

Members of the St Edmundsbury Council development control committee will be visiting the site of a proposed wind turbine on the edge of Haverhill tomorrow (Thursday, December 19)

James Sills has applied to erect a 78 metre turbine, substation, hardstanding and access track on the site south of Hazel Stub, in Nosterfield End.

The application was considered at a recent meeting of the committee but was deferred to allow members to visit the location to see it for themselves.

Once the site visit has been made a decision will be taken on whether to allow or refuse the planning application at the committee’s next meeting, which takes place at West Suffolk House in Bury St Edmunds on January 2, starting at 10am.
