UPDATE: Parts of Haverhill are still without power today after the electricity supply went down.

Around 1,700 people lost their power supplies at around midday today including Havebury Housing offices in the High Street and Haverhill Leisure Centre in Erhinghausen Way.

UK Power Networks said that by 2.25pm all but 69 customers had been reconnected.

A spokeswoman said they were attempting to discover the cause of the power cut which had been reported as damage to a sub station.

“We appreciate how difficult it is to be without power and would like to apologise to all those affected”, she said.

Havebury Housing has just announced its offices will be opening shortly after power was restored.
