The Mayor of St Edmundsbury, Cllr Terry Buckle, is hosting a spring charity ball to raise money for causes close to his heart.

The Pavilion at Ravenwood Hall Hotel, Rougham, is the venue for the black tie event on Friday, April 4.

Tickets are £60 each for the bucks fizz reception, three-course dinner and dancing to the band No Excuse.

All proceeds will go to Cancer Research UK and Moreton Hall Youth Club, which is raising money for new equipment.

Cllr Buckle said: “The Mayor’s Ball will be one of the highlights of my year in office and I’m very pleased to be raising money for an important charity and a local youth group in the community where I’ve lived for more than 30 years.

“I have chosen these causes because, sadly, I have lost several relatives to cancer and I want to help the youth club as it does such a wonderful job for young people.”

To buy tickets please email mayors.office@stedsbc.gov.uk or call the Mayor’s Secretary on 01284 757135.

Cllr Buckle has organised an Indian Charity Dinner at Valley Connection in Bury St Edmunds on Monday, February 24 to raise money for his charities.

Tickets are £30 and all proceeds from the meal and raffle will go to Cancer Research UK and Moreton Hall Youth Club.
