Spring clean gives Withersfield a spruce up
Residents rolled up their sleeves and pulled out the bin bags for the annual litter pick in Withersfield.
The main focus of the recent tidy up was the grass verges and hedgerows around the village and the approaching roads.
Jill Johnson, parish council clerk, led the spring team and was accompanied by a hardy bunch of volunteers keen to help out.
“We had a good turnout of villagers and must of filled more than 20 rubbish sacks,” said Jill.
“It is good to have people prepared to join in.”
Among the interesting finds on the spring clean were barrels leaking a mystery substance, which Suffolk County Council have been notified about.
