Two Haverhill teenagers smashed the world record for the longest radio show and raised more than £1,000 for charity in the process.
Dan Bell and Callum Sutton completed a 76 hour and eight minute stint on their station, Ignite Radio, eclipsing the previous world record of 72 hours.
The pair of 16 year olds broadcast from Days Inn Haverhill from Tuesday (August 13) to Friday (August 16) in aid of Help For Heroes.
Morning boxercise sessions and obstacle courses, on-air interviews with BBC Radio Suffolk and Cambridge 105FM and 3am monopoly games all kept listeners entertained and the hosts, who will now both study Radio and Journalism at Cambridge Regional College, going.
So far they have raised £1,010.06 for the wounded servicemen’s charity, though more cash is yet to come in and donations can still be made at www.justgiving.com/75hourradio/
