There were two assaults in the centre of Haverhill early on Saturday (November 17) morning.

Between 1.30am and 2am in Queen Street an altercation resulted in a 20 year old man getting punched in the mouth.

Police are investigating.

The second incident happened inside Bar Vu at around 2.19am.

An altercation on the dance floor happened when an 18 year old girl was punched in the face after she allegedly pushed a man away.

Haverhill Police Inspector Peter Ferrie said: “It’s difficult to know what Bar Vu could have done to stop this one.

“Pc Will Wright has said that Bar Vu is the best run pub in town and I will endorse that.”
