Unemployment in Haverhill has fallen to its lowest level since December 2008, with the number of jobless almost halving since the 2009 peak.

The only measure of unemployment available at a local level in Haverhill is the claimant count which records the number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) .

The most recent data from March shows this is 2.8 per cent. During the recession unemployment peaked in Haverhill in May 2009 with a rate of 4.9 per cent.
