A business leader with a wealth of leadership experience has been appointed as non-executive director (NED) at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.
Gary Norgate, who lives in Elmswell, has been appointed to the board for a period of three years. Currently the vice president of BT’s UK professional services organisation, he has previously served as a NED with both Cambridge Community Services NHS Foundation Trust and Suffolk Mental Health Trust.
He brings with him extensive leadership experience and has recently completed a doctorate in business dministration, with a focus on corporate governance.
He said: “Since first becoming a non-executive director, this is the role I’ve always wanted – a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the management and development of an already excellent service that has a huge impact on my immediate community.”

He has a proven track record at senior level and brings with him a wealth of strategic and change management experience.

Dr Norgate takes up his post in September and will receive remuneration of £11,000 a year.
