Villagers are campaigning to stop an industrial development which they fear would put traffic strain on Wickhambrook.
Plans for a new weld shop, assembly building and office extension on 11 acres of land at Gaines Hall at Attleton Green go before a planning committee at St Edmundsbury Council in August.
The application, by farming company Clayon Yieldometer Limited, will create an engineering workplace for 60 people.
But residents who have set up a website called savewickhambrook.org say the plans will bring an increase of traffic to the village on the B1063 they claim has seen four fatal crashes.
Wickhambrook resident Dan Martin said: “To put more lorries onto such a dangerous road is utter madness. How many more people have to be killed or injured before the authorities see sense?
“It’s a question that councillors of St Edmundsbury Borough Council will very soon have to decide. Will they make the lives of vulnerable children and the elderly their first priority?”
Former county councillor Jane Midwood said she objected to “creeping” development on the existing site.
