Haverhill people are invited to take a closer look at Place Court care home in Camps Road on Friday, June 20 when the Care UK team opens its doors for an afternoon of cream teas as part of National Care Home Open Day.
Visitors to Place Court will be able to enjoy cream teas as well as a raffle and tombola, and games such as ‘Guess the name of the teddy’ and ‘Guess the weight of the cake’.
Karen Curle, home manager at Place Court, said: “With 113 care homes across the UK, Care UK has pledged its support to National Care Home Open Day; and on a local level, we are looking forward to welcoming members of the public to Place Court.
“Some people do still have misconceptions about care homes, and it is therefore necessary to dispel any myths and to demystify everyday life in a care home. We have set out to create a fun and entertaining event for the local community, as well as our residents and their families, and we hope members of the public will join us for what promises to be a memorable event.”
Place Court care home provides residential care for older people with Alzheimers and other forms of dementia. The adjacent wellbeing centre provides day care clubs and activities for older members of the community living in their own homes.
