A man and a young girl have made a ‘slight improvement’ although remain in a critical condition following a collision between a car and a lorry in Parkway Bury St Edmunds.

Emergency services were called at about 1.05pm on Thursday, August 4, to the incident involving a lorry and a BMW outside the multi-storey car park.

A man in his 30s from Mildenhall and a little girl, believed to be five-years-old and from Newmarket, were freed from the car and flown to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by air ambulance.

A police spokeswoman said: “The little girl and the man are very much in a critical condition.

“They have shown a slight improvement but remain critical.”

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the vehicles prior to the crash or the collision itself to call Suffolk Police on 101 quoting reference CAD 171 of Thursday, August 4.
