A LEADING cancer charity is urging tennis players to set up their own tournament to raise money for it in a scheme backed by Wimbledon heroes Andy and Jamie Murray.
Marie Curie Cancer Care is encouraging fans of the game to register a doubles tournament with them and take part in Anyone for Tennis.

The tournament calls on tennis fans of any age or ability to play their favourite game to help terminally ill people spend their final days surrounded by the people they love the most.

Andy and Jamie Murray said: “We are delighted to support a worthwhile cause and would urge you to sign up today.

“Marie Curie’s Anyone for Tennis 2009 gives you a chance to improve your game and have fun, while at the same time raising funds to provide more care for the terminally ill in your area.”

To register your tournament call 08700 340 040 (local rate), e-mail tennis@mariecurie.org.uk or log on to www.mariecurie.org.uk/tennis
