HORSEHEATH and Babraham I are fighting it out for the major league honours.
They contest the Adams Harrison Cup final next Thursday at Haverhill in a repeat of last season’s final.
And to add to that it’s now between them for the league title after Abington lost to Horseheath.
Division Two looks as if it’s between Long
Melford and Sawston.
Thurlow’s stay in Division Two is over as they were relegated while Great Yeldham and Mill Green can clinch promotion with wins this week in the two Division Three sections.
Ashdon will look to make it three League Cups in a row as they beat Wratting Lions in the semi-final.
DIVISION ONE: Babraham beat Haverhill by 8 runs.
Stuart Morrison with 4-15 kept Babraham’s hopes of retaining the title alive and keeps Haverhill in danger at the wrong end of the table.
Abington lost to Horseheath by six wickets.
Despite 69 from Simon Bishop Horseheath won comfortably to end Abington’s hopes of the title and keep theirs very much alive. Knocks of 37 from Dan Goldsmith and 32no from Gary Ellis for the home side, as they remain on course for a league and cup double.
Helions Bumpstead lost to Weston Colville by three wickets.
Weston won this close match with a ball to spare to virtually secure their Division One status and keep Helions in big trouble, although they have games in hand. Trevor Westley hit 72 for Weston and Mark Nunn (40), Neil Winter (28no), Chris Raynor (3-31) for Helions.
DIVISION TWO: Gestingthorpe beat Ashdon by 7 runs.
Very big scores from both sides as Gestingthorpe hung on to win a thriller.
Michael Furze (46), Will Mallett (53), Mark Noakes (39) and Ashley Baker (3-24) for the home side.
DIVISION 3A: Acton lost to Great Yeldham by 10 wickets.
Nick Wright and Paul Brazier (26no) saw Yeldham home after Adrian Baker had taken 3-24. They now can clinch promotion with a win at Hundon.
Gestingthorpe II lost to Hundon by 8 wickets.
Comfortable night for Hundon with Ben Hyett’s 4-26 and Steff Marks’ 25.
Wratting Lions lost to Highpoint by 8 wickets.
Poor night for Wratting Lions as the promotion dream now looks over with this defeat despite 25 from Russell Davis. Aaron Walters took 4-24 and there was a fine 42no from Rob Walsh.
DIVISION 3B: Weston Colville II lost to Mill Green by five wickets.
Good bowling on the night from Andy Argent (3-13) and Will Brown (5-7) edge Mill Green closer to promotion.
Castle Manor lost to Abington II by four wickets.
Promotion looks all over for Manor as they lost to Abington. Abington played well in both departments. Chris Malins did the damage with the ball taking 5-17 and Jamie Ketteridge (25no) and Jimmy Lawrence (27) with the bat, Manor’s Neil Mortimer taking 3-14.
ADAMS HARRISON CUP SEMI-FINALS: Horseheath beat Helions Bumpstead by 24 runs.
Gary Ellis with 57 and 4-21 saw the holders through to the final.
