Upgraded Sawston beat Gestingthorpe I in Division Two and Wratting Lions continued their good start in 3A.
Tom Beaumont made 97no as Hundon thrashed Highpoint.
DIVISION ONE
Abington I 129-3 beat Babraham 126-9 by three runs
Simon Bishop (
42no) and Nick Wells (32) gave Abington the platform for this win and good bowling from Stuart Duquemin (4-18) and Martin Little (3-26) saw Abington through. Guy Ennew (26) and Chris Palmer (33) scored for the Champions.
Weston Colville I 127-5 lost to Haverhill 129-1 by nine wickets
Comfortable win for Haverhill with three overs remaining thanks to Simon Youngs (60no) and Adam Dellar (35no). Trevor Westley was unbeaten on 49 for Colville.
Horseheath 145-5 beat Helions Bumpstead 122-8 by 23 runs
Horseheath go joint top with skipper Dan Goldsmith leading the way with 74 assisted by Ally Ketteridge (35) and backed up by Wes Walker who took 3-22. Mark Nunn (26) and Peter Thearl (25) batted well for Helions.
DIVISION TWO
Brockley 126 beat Ashdon 113-8 by 13 runs
Joe Reed (42) and Jack Brame (3-26) helped Brockley to a good win over a useful Ashdon line up. Ashdon’s top scorer was Jamie Millership with 30 and useful contributions with the ball from David Hall (4-24) and Chris Wisby (4-30).
Thurlow 166-4 lost to Long Melford 168-3 by seven wickets
A high-scoring match with Thurlow believing they had enough with 166 thanks Steve Lanceman (41no), Keith Donno (37) and Martin Buckner (57) for the visitors. Melford had other ideas with Stuart Whitehart (43), Will Shropshire (47) and Steve Hale (47) in the runs as this continues to be a very good division this year.
Sawston 192-7 beat Gestingthorpe I 142-6 by 50 runs
Sawston continued to enjoy midweek cricket with a comfortable win over Gestingthorpe I.
Liam Flynn (38), Ben Benson (30) and Ruwan Pitagala (46) all had good knocks for the home side.
DIVISION 3A
Hundon 203-2 beat Highpoint 56-7 by 147 runs
Big total by Hundon as they dominated this fixture with Tom Beaumont the main man with 97no, well assisted by Rupert Melville-Ross with 54no.
Ben Robinson then made it a horrid night for Highpoint with 3-16 for Hundon as Highpoint could only reach 56.
Wratting Lions 165-5 beat Acton 114-7 by 51 runs.
Steve Bowes (37), Paul Morris (35) and Kerry Ewens (3-13) helped keep the Lions’ unbeaten start going.
Highpoint 74 beat Gestingthorpe II 69 by five runs.
Low scoring match between these two with Highpoint just winning, although there was good work from Harry Wright (4 wkts), Richard Scillitoe (3 wkts) and James Dury (38) for the visitors.
Gestingthorpe II 85-3 lost to Gt Yeldham 87-1 by nine wickets
Local pride went to Yeldham with a very comfortable win in ten overs.
