Haverhill Rovers face one of the biggest weeks in their history this week, without a ball being kicked.
The Football Association's leagues committee meets today to decide promotion and relegation issues, but even more importantly on Monday the Football Foundation will decide whether to award £700,000 to the town's proposed new community football project.
Current first team manager Peter Betts described it as an 'absolutely massive' week for the club and football in the town.
He said: "We've been told that we will get an answer on Friday (from leagues committee) which I'm delighted with because I have a shortlist in my mind with what players I want to get in to the club if we are in the Ridgeons Premier and what players I'll try to attract if we're in Ridgeons One.
"I've been big on the youth section of the club since I've come back and that will be the biggest thing with the new ground."
St Edmundsbury Council has pledged £1.3 million to the project already, which has come in over budget with all six tenders.
Three of these have been invited by the council to provide cost-cutting options so it falls within the overall £2 million budget,
All being well on that side, then next season could be Rovers' last at Hamlet Croft, but the Reds won't know what division that will be in until today's meeting.
The Reds finished bottom of the Ridgeons League Premier Division but will be given a reprieve if the FA decides Lowestoft Town and Tiptree United will be allowed to move to the divisions they desire.
Lowestoft are in line for promotion to step four but have indicated they would not accept a place in the Southern League because of high travelling costs, which means Rovers need the FA to offer their Suffolk rivals a place in the Ryman League if they are to be playing in the Ridgeons Premier when the season kicks off on August 8.
There is not expected to be too much problem with Tiptree's request to move sideways to the Essex Senior League but Haverhill would need both Tiptree and Lowestoft to leave the Ridgeons League for them to avoid relegation back to Ridgeons Division One after just two seasons in the Premier.
