THE history of Haverhill Rovers Football Club has been condensed into 160 pages by local historian and author Roy Brazier, and will be launched with a special get-together of ex-players at Hamlet Croft on July 26.
Some of those set to return include the popular Ronnie Abbott, who formed a goalscoring spearhead with John Cutts in the early 60s, player-coaches Peter Wright and Roger Staples, as well as Tony Howe, Ian Coleman, Eric Bailey, Ray Thake, Derek Nunn a
nd more.

The book will be available for a special low rate that day only from 2pm, when the launch party begins.

Printwise has printed the book, which includes many illustrations and a colour section, as well as the history of one of Suffolk's oldest football clubs, dating back to the 1880s.

Author Roy Brazier has written several sporting books, including four on Tottenham Hotspur, one on Arsenal, as well as a history of Mildenhall Fen Tigers speedway team.

The book will also be on sale at a pre-launch rate at the Keith Willis Memorial Haverhill Charity Cup match on Friday, July 25, which will be played between Haverhill Rovers and Hundon.

There are still some ex-players that Roy is keen to contact, including Jack Babbage, Jim Power and Jim Thomson, and any former players are welcome to attend the launch.
