Mill Green's M Norman hit an impressive 91 but it wasn't enough for his side to beat Brockley in their Adams Harrison Midweek League Division Two match.
Norman's 91 wasn't quite enough because Joe Reed hit 106 for Brockley in the 20/20 format competition as Mill Green fell 24 runs short of Brockley's 199-3.

Both Sawston and Haverhill remained unbeaten in Division One ahead of their meeting last night at Manor Road.

Simon Youngs (42) and Sam Powell (41) scored well as Haverhill won at defending champions Babraham while Simon Potger's 46 for Sawston handed them a three-wicket home win over Horseheath.

Weston Colville comfortably beat Abington in the other Division One match with Harry Randall (41no) and Trevor Westley (47) doing the damage.

Hundon I beat Highpoint in Division 3A, with Bruce Workmaster hitting 47no, but there wasn't such good news for Hundon II in the same divisions as they lost to promotion contenders Wratting Lions, who had Terry Pinkney score 74no.

There were wins in Division 3B for Abington II (Greg Wagstaff 42no) and Castle Manor.

MARSHALL HATCHICK TWO COUNTIES LEAGUE

DIVISION TWO

Witham lost to

Haverhill by 3 wickets.

Haverhill moved up to fourth in the league with a three-wicket victory over Witham at the Manor Road ground on Saturday.

The visitors won the toss and decided to bat on a good looking wicket and fast outfield. Witham raced along even though the home side had Christ Silverwood in their ranks.

The first wicket came when Joe Woodley clean bowled Hawes (21) with the score on 67 in the 12th over.

Runs were still coming easily but skipper Adam Dellar turned to Simon Youngs who took the pace off the ball and brought the run rate down.

Youngs claimed a couple of wickets and his spell of 11-0-39-2 was to be the turning point in the game.

When Headley was caught and bowled by Sam Powell (9-0-45-3) and two also for Russell Davis (6-0-34-2) reduced Witham to 186-8.

Some clever batting at the end managed to boost their score to 232-8 and a decent effort.

The home side had not started well all season but today was different as Dave Godwin and Scott Webb put on 74 for the first wicket before Godwin (28) was adjudged leg before.

A bright and breezy innings from Dellar (24) moved the score to 104-2.

Powell joined Webb and they put on 68 before Powell (25) was stumped. Webb departed soon after for a fine 84 but there was still work to do.

Dan Poole (8), Neil Winter (6) and Youngs (6) all fell but Silverwood (20 not out) saw the side home and a victory by three wickets.

A third win on the run for Haverhill has pushed them towards the right end of the table but there is still a long way to go.
