TUCKER GARDNER PREMIER LEAGUE DIVISION TWO
Abington lost to Babraham by six wickets

WITH eight senior batsman unavailable for various reasons, Abington's winning streak somewhat predictably came to an overdue halt.

An extremely juicy Babraham wicket proved very taxing to bat on and losing Stuart Duquemin in the first over was a major blow.

Dave Hamper took a lot of body blows to make a determined 26 at number three and James Webb was superb in 34 not out, but only Nick Avery (19) gave any support until Avery was given a controversial lbw for the second week running.

Wickets were spread for Babraham with two each for Jon Woodgate, Andy Palmer and Ian McNulty and 3-15 for Saju Balakrishnan.

Babraham had a revised target of 109 which they reached with few alarms, for the loss of four wickets, thanks to the flashing blade of Jon Woodgate with 41, and Andy Palmer (22).

Stuart Duquemin, who last week got 8-13, could only manage 2-22 this week as Babraham won by six wickets.
