Haverhill 5 – Royston U8 9

A strong Royston tag squad fielded two sides at Haverhill on Sunday, hoping to break the hosts' unbeaten home record.

Excellent defensive work from Luke Wheeler, Emma Jo Hines and Oliver Loveridge kept the matches clo
se with there little to separate the teams as the first games ended 3-3 and 4-4 with the points coming from Hayden Rhys with four, a John Adams double and a superb effort from Oscar Howard.

In the final game, Haverhill lead 4-3 at the break with great turnover work from Harry Rhys and a darting run from Aidan Denty, but in the final period Royston won 9-5.

Adams chipped in with another double with Charlie Harvey, William Atherton and Rhys completing the scoring.

Under 10s

Haverhill 10 20 – Royston 5

After an extended festive break, Haverhill were keen to start well in their first game against Royston.

After some stout defensive work from Charlie Browne and Kit Brown, captain Tyler Neil broke through the defence to run in for the try.
Royston equalised but the hosts went from strength to strength and began to boss the game.

Great work from scrum half Steven Adams saw further tries from Oliver Cooper and Jack Sizer.

Jordan Newman rounded off an excellent debut with a great individual try in the corner.

Haverhill 30 – Royston 0

The second game saw Haverhill continue to dominate and the forward line of Euwan Belenger, Kit Browne, Charlie Brown and Matt Paske controlled the game.

Some good flowing rugby saw break away tries from both Oliver Cooper and Kit Browne.

Enzo Grandennti scored a hatrick after some good recycling in mid field upon his return to the club.

The comprehensive win for Haverhill was rounded off with Jordan Newman scoring in the corner after a storming run down the line as Haverhill enjoyed their best performance of the season.

They next play against Wendens Ambo.
