HAVERHILL Rovers' hopes of surviving relegation from Ridgeons League Premier Division have increased after the demise of one of their relegation rivals.
Whitton United were forced to pull out of the league this week, citing resignations of first team manager and coach, loss of supporting staff and transferring out of numerous players as their reasons.

United's record was expunged from the league as a result, meaning Rovers were moved two points closer to the safety line and only two teams will be relegated at the end of the season.

Full story in next Thursday's Echo.
