HAVERHILL Rovers are continuing their search for a new manager this week after failing to agree deals with their latest two targets.
Ex-AFC Sudbury manager Mark Morsley and current Wroxham assistant manager Simon Brooks have both turned down the chance to move to Hamlet Croft.

But Rovers chairman Steve Brown is still in discussions with two other candidates, one with Ridgeons L
eague experience, as he continues to aim high in the search for a new manager.

“We shall try and get it sorted this week,” said Mr Brown.

“It gives him time to speak to Hunty (captain Marcus Hunt) and the players and one of them seems quite keen.”

The Rovers chairman confirmed the club would have someone in place by the annual meeting in the first week of June.

Mr Brown said: “Mark Morsley’s got money that he brings with him but I don’t think that’s necessarily a good thing for a club because there would be a big hole left when he leaves and we would be in the same situation we were when Richard Carter left, so I was a bit wary.

“Simon Brooks would have been an exciting appointment because he did quite well at Thetford and has experience with Wroxham in the second half of this season but he has just changed jobs and thought the commitment of being a manager was too much for him.”

The club is looking for a new club secretary.

Anyone interested should call Steve Brown on 07929 882645.
