HAVERHILL'S two netball teams have just completed a near-perfect season in the Suffolk League.
Haverhill A were second division champions after winning all ten of their matches while Haverhill B were also unbeaten, recording nine wins and a draw in the third division.

That means both sides will be playing a division higher next summer somet
hing that wasn’t expected in the league, which is played at Thurston, when their respective campaigns began in April.

“We’ve done really well,” said second team skipper Sadie Rogers. “We weren’t too sure how we’d do this year because we had a couple of new players in the first team but they’ve helped us a lot and we’ve done really well.

“The last two seasons we haven’t done too well. We didn’t do too badly last season but not good, but this time we’ve won it.”

Haverhill A clinched the title with a 33-18 victory over Moreton Hall last week and peaked with a 66-32 thrashing of Jubilee A.

Haverhill B beat Cockfield 32-22 to finish their unbeaten season last week and had their heaviest win over Jubilee B, 34-14.

n Haverhill are looking for more players to take part in their winter league campaign.

Anyone interested should call Sadie Rogers on 07738 232461.
