Haverhill Rovers' player Scott Wilby has moved to Mildenhall Town.
The young winger has joined Rovers Ridgeons Premier League rivals after they put in a seven day approach to the club last Saturday.
Walsham-le-Willows, who beat Rovers 3-1 on Saturday, also put in a bid for the player, but he opted to go to Milden
hall.
Wilby joined Rovers in the summer from Newmarket Town, where he had been playing for the reserves without really getting a chance in the first team.
Although disappointed to see the player go, Rovers manager Peter Betts said: "The boy is flying at the moment - he's in the form of his life.
"We allowed it because I'm not one to stop a player from progressing.
"The financial offer was something that he couldn't turn down and this is where we are always going to struggle."
With Rovers two points off the top six, having turned things around from finishing bottom of the league last season, other clubs are now looking more closely at their players, and Betts added: "In a way we have been a victim of our own success.
"Scott came in pre-season with us, asking for a chance, having never played at this level and he's been developed and turned into a Ridgeons Premier League player in a matter of months.
"He's probably been our best attacking player this season."
