HUNDON Cricket Club will host two important events this weekend, including one that will attempt to restore national cricketing pride.
Hundon under 13s will be tested by Dutch side Hilversun in an attempt to make up for England’s shock defeat at the hands of the Netherlands in the recent World Twenty20.

Former Haverhill-based cricketer Mick Farrant, now involved in coaching Hilversun and another regular touring team in Kampong, will bring the Dutch side across for a game of cricket at 10.30am before everyone socialises over a traditional English dinner.

Colin Walters, involved in the coaching set up at Hundon, said: “There’s been some quite good games in recent years.”

Then on Sunday, Haverhill will take on Bury St Edmunds in the final of the Borders Junior Cricket under 11s cup, with the first ball bowled at 2pm.
