BIG WIN: Mildenhall's Ziaf Kulasi (left) shares a joke with his former team-mate Nathan Twiddey during Worlington's hammering.

Mildenhall tightened their grip on top spot of the Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship Division One table courtesy of a 104-run win over neighbours Worlington on Saturday.

Batting first, the visitors were able to complete their 50 overs with a score of 286-8, thanks largely to the form of captain Steve Taylor.

He scored a run-a-ball century, before eventually being bowled for 105 by Steve Flack.

In reply, hosting Worlington lost wickets at regular intervals and they were eventually dismissed for 182 in 48.3 overs.

Graham Ford top scored with 51, while Hamzah Ikram was the pick of Mildenhall’s bowling attack (5-33).

Elsewhere, Haverhill beat Halstead by two wickets and Hadleigh were hammered by 146 runs against Mistley.

In the Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier Cricket League, Burwell, Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury and Woolpit all suffered defeats.

Meanwhile, Old Buckenham won by eight runs over Sprowston in the Dipple and Conway Opticians Norfolk Cricket Alliance League.

However, there was not such positive news for Diss and Garboldisham, who lost at home to Fakenham and Cromer respectively.
