Haverhill Sports Association will be submitting an application for promotion to the Thurlow Nunn League.
The fledgling club was only formed in the summer of 2011, but has already gone up from Division One of the Essex and Suffolk Border League to the Premier Division.
Now, it wants to go one step further and go into the First Division of the Thurlow Nunn League.
The deadline for applications is December 31, and forms will be made available in early December.
Haverhill Community Sports Association, HSA’s landlords, has approved the proposal, and all that remains for its realisation is for the FA and the Thurlow Nunn League to add their backing too.
Should HSA finish in the top five of their league, and no team finishing above them wants promotion, the move will go ahead.
HSA manager Ben Cowling said: “I don’t expect us to keep on winning like we have been winning games, but I think we have got enough to compete.”
HSA are currently unbeaten in the Border League and have also reached the FA Vase third round.
