Stowmarket Town are appealing for support to help them keep their promotion bid alive this season.
The Thurlow Nunn League First Division club learnt at the weekend that their floodlights need to be upgraded in order to be promoted at the end of the current campaign.
Rick Andrews’ side ran out 3-0 winners against Downham Town at the weekend, a result which, coupled with then leaders Coggeshall Town’s 5-4 defeat at Whitton United, saw them climb to the top of the table.
With an eight-point gap over Woodbridge Town in fourth place, Stow are well on course for a top three finish this season, which would secure the club its first promotion in their 134-year history.
However, the club need to make improvements to the floodlights at their Greens Meadow base in order to meet the standard needed to play in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division next season.
The club have set up a crowdfunding page on the Just Giving website for people to donate and help raise the required funds, which has been quoted at a cost of £10,000.
