Linton’s Adam Kelly finished in eighth place in this year’s World Crazy Golf Championship in Hastings at the weekend.

The 20-year-old, who last month won the British Minigolf Championships in Norfolk, had 16 hole-in-ones during the two-day event at Hastings Seafront.

Kelly posted rounds of 35, 34, 35, 34, 35, 34 and 36 to finish the competition nine under par, 10 shots behind the winner.

England’s Michael Smith scooped the £1,000 first prize as he retained the title with rounds of 32, 33, 33, 30, 33, 34 and 38.

Sean Homer (-15) took second spot while Mark Wood (-14) won a play-off against Germany’s Thomas Giebenhein to come third.

Ed Pope (+6) won the Novice title after finishing ahead of Matt Bray (+11) and Rupert Pilgrim (+15).
