Allen duo's new personal bests

HAVERHILL athletes Luke and Jake Allen each set new personal best distances in their shot put competitions at the Eastern Athletics Association Championships in Cambridge on Sunday.

Luke threw 12.74 metres, while Jake reached 10.53 metres in the event.

Luke also competed in sprint hurdles, clocking 16.04 secs, and in long jump, where he jumped 5.98 metres.

Jake’s other events were discus (21.44 metres) and javelin (22.75 metres).
