Art to boost hospice funds

Glasswells are hosting a charity art exhibition and sale, in aid of St Nicolas Hospice Care, at their home furnishings store on Newmarket Road in Bury St Edmunds.

Around 30 local artists have signed up for the event, which runs from Friday,5 to Sunday September 14.

The company will donate 25 per cent of any sales made to the hospice. A

mongst the pieces on display are oil paintings by Barbara Carlyle, water colours by Pat Stoten, bronze sculptures by Vanessa Stollery and lino prints by Lindsay Rae Rollett, Lindsay said: “My greatest joy is to share my passion for art and to help release creativity and appreciation in others.

“It’s even better when that involves giving something back to the community and supporting a charity that does such vital work.”
